Pre-FM soundboard source. Missing Cobain's opening dialogue about his guitar, the screaming intro, the very first song ('School') and some announcer banter after 'Blew' about T-shirts being on sale. All other songs and between-song banter are present.



 Nirvana’s first European tour began in October 1989. The “Heavier Than Heaven” tour as it was subsequently named was a reference to the power of the music and also the weight of front man Tad Doyle of co-headliners Tad.
The intense tour schedule consisted of thirty-seven shows in forty-two days in nine countries leaving no option but to drive overnight to the next venue.
This show from U4 in Vienna is remarkable not just for the performance but the crowd reaction generously titled as crowd banter on a few tracks. There is one member of the audience who in his desperation to hear “About A Girl” is reduced to screaming and shrieking so much he sounds as if he’s having a mental breakdown. His use of ‘Anglo-Saxon’ (swearing) is quite phenomenal for a foreigner. It’s incredible that he wasn’t removed by the security.

U2 - Rock's Hottest Ticket (1987)

Rock's Hottest Ticket is considered by some die-hard U2 fans to be the band's best unofficial live recording. Until the subsequent release of official live material such as Hasta la Vista Baby, Popmart, and Zoo TV: Live From Sydney, it was also the best way to get a solid full concert. Beware, however: There are two bootleg releases called Rock's Hottest Ticket. This version was recorded in Chicago, IL, on April 29, 1987, at Rosemont Horizon. The other (inferior version) is from Croke Park on June 27, 1987, in Dublin, Ireland. That version is often labeled as "Rock's Hottest Ticket, Vol. 1" or "Rock's Hottest Ticket, Vol. 2" and only contains about half of a show. Check the liner notes for recording location to be safe.



This concert from Chicago is one of the best audience recordings out there, and this performance is one of the band's best from the early Joshua Tree tour (which would stretch for 18 months). At shows later in the tour, Bono's interaction with the crowd seemed rote, like he has only an average connection with the audience. In this show, however, the band seems very excited to have recently landed on top of the world.
The show opens like many of their concerts with "Where The Streets Have No Name" and it slides fluently and emotionality along the lines followed by "Joshua Tree" touching most of the popular tunes of their career: "I Will Follow","MLK","The Unforgettable Fire","Gloria" and their all time classic "Sunday Bloody Sunday". To be noticed is the rare execution of "Springhill Mining Disaster" by Peggy Seeger and of "Mothers Of The Disappeared"

Already known as one of the best live bands of all time, Radiohead did us all a favor by putting on a live show for the ages in Tennessee, USA of all places.

Bonnaroo has had its share of amazing acts. From Bruce Springsteen to Eminem, it's never had to look hard for a top notch act. The other bands on the bill in 2006 were:

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Phil Lesh & Friends, Elvis Costello & the Imposters feat. Allen Toussaint, Beck, Oysterhead, Bonnie Raitt, Death Cab for Cutie, moe., Bright Eyes, The Neville Brothers, Bйla Fleck & the Flecktones (the original line-up), Cypress Hill, Buddy Guy, Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley, Ben Folds, Common, Dr. John, Sonic Youth, Les Claypool, G. Love & Special Sauce and many more.

It's hard to believe this was over 5 years ago, but a friend of mine was running sound that night. He snagged the 2-track master from the board and handed the raw WAV over to me. I felt like I scored the mix of a lifetime. I've spent twenty years behind mixing consoles and mastering is one of my fortes, so I couldn't wait to pull the best out of this one.

After two months of wrangling, I finally came up with a mix that I loved. Everything is crystal clear. I have heard every "official" Radiohead live release and none of them sound this clear. After 5 years of keeping this to myself, I had a talk with my friend -- and he gave me to the OK to go ahead and release this to the public on the 5th anniversary of this awesome show. Of course, they could tell me to take it down any moment, so I would download the files below as soon as possible.

Then, listen to it over and over and over.

I really tried to focus the attention on the individuals, breaking it apart so you can hear everyone. The show improves as it goes -- with the first couple songs being a bit rough -- they settle in and the last 10 songs are completely spot on and wonderful. Because it's straight from the board, you get to hear the band without all that damn crowd noise. :)

The arrangement to Bodysnatchers is a bit different from the album version. You can tell they were still working on it.

This was a ture breath taking experience, much respect to the French, thair silence during the performance was through complete respect for a band that have now fully established them selfs as the most important on the planet, as this guy turned to one of my frends at the end of the show and said "now i understand why you have came all the way from the UK (Aberdeen) to see them." Tom York's beautiful vocal,next to Jon Greenwood's complete all out drive through the show and Ed O'brien just balanced the hole thing out, and the added Neil Young tune 'After the gold rush' was just like perfection!
